Toyota Tonka truck replica on sale
Toyota dealer shows initiative by aping the impressive, HiLux-based Tonka Concept ute – and you can buy itToyota’s HiLux-based Tonka Concept ute revealed in Sydney early this year has itself been interpreted.
And this time it’s by a Sydney dealership which has built, from the ground up, a convincing replica that not only looks the part, but is available for sale through carsales.com.au to a prospective owner with no fear of being noticed on the road.
Based on a HiLux with 59,282km on the odometer, this ‘Tonka’ is on sale for $67,955 with a new-vehicle warranty applicable until late 2018.
Inspired by the Toyota Australia concept, the car for sale has been given the treatment with a vinyl Tonka wrap, rhino bumper bar, suspension lift, five new tyres with Tonka rims, sports bar, spare wheel carrier, jerry can holders, snorkel, flares, bonnet scoop and a full array of LED lights.
Alas, the Tonka replica makes do without the super-expensive, but super capable Arctic Trucks inspired chassis makeover.
