Top five news articles of 2022

There’s no denying the interest in future models from one particular brand Down Under

Toyota will sell more than double the number of new vehicles than any other auto brand again this year in Australia, where the world’s biggest car-maker has a solid grip on no fewer than eight market segments.

And with all-new replacements for two of its best-sellers on the way, it’s hardly surprising there’s plenty of interest when it comes to news around them. We published almost 2500 news articles in 2022 and these were the five most popular of them.

Any news about the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series is a big-clicker, but we were as surprised as anyone to learn this story about an overseas aftermarket bodykit for the new model ranked as our fourth most popular news article of 2022.

Any LandCruiser news is good news

5. Toyota GR 86 now turbocharged

GR 86

And in fifth place was news of another Toyota, the second-generation GR 86 sports coupe, receiving another not-so-relevant upgrade – in this case the GR Yaris’ turbo triple, but only for race and research purposes. Sure the headline was a bit cheeky, but go figure…

Everybody loves the GR 86
