Back in February 2021, a 26-year-old disqualified driver was stopped by police after being spotted in his Mitsubishi sedan in Adelaide’s north around 2am driving without its headlights on and with altered number plates. Besides the obvious dodgy paint job over the existing number plates, the words “Not stolen ok” were written as the tag line…

What’s better than a LEGO Toyota Supra? A full-scale replica that can be driven! The collaboration between Toyota, LEGO and LEGOLAND Japan was to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the launch of the first Toyota Supra. The bright yellow GR Supra replica was made using 477,303 LEGO bricks over 2400 hours and was immaculately recreated not only on the exterior but in the interior as well, right down to the seats and rear-view mirror.

The highly anticipated upgraded 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO was revealed in Japan in April and part of the reveal included the announcement of a fun collaboration with fast-food giant McDonald’s in which the new GT-R NISMO was immortalised in Happy Meal toy form. A gold specification 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO secret Happy Meal toy was put out in circulation with the chance to win a driving experience in the life-sized version. Only in Japan!

Who doesn’t love love and love gifts? Well, it appears a mystery woman named Alice has hit the jackpot after French luxury car-maker Bugatti revealed that it had built a bespoke version of its Chiron Sport with a bit of flair customised for her in time for Valentine’s Day 2021. The brand-new and unique Chiron Sport finished in Matt Blanc and Silk Rosé paint is the only one in the world too.

A collaboration between Mazda and Japanese sportswear company Mizuno was unveiled in 2021, embracing Mazda’s Jinba Ittai philosophy – ‘oneness between horse and rider’. Mazda’s car designers and Mizuno’s shoe designers worked together to co-create a fashionable and functional shoe, based on Mazda’s ‘Soul Movement’ design theme. The Mazda/Mizuno Driving Shoes are said to provide the wearer with a driving experience of “light yet stable and comfortable pedal operation” and hopes to achieve both style, comfort and a direct pedal feel during driving, enhancing the sense of unity between the driver and the car.
