One that makes you scratch your head and say: “What were they thinking?”In 2023 there were many stories originating from Australia and around the world about cars in quirky situations. 5. Top relationship ending driving 'icks' revealed
The most common driving icks which have been flagged as major turnoffs and even relationship enders have been revealed in a new study from the UK.
Fiat UK surveyed 2000 people about the types of driving habits and behaviours that were absolute turnoffs and potentially relationship-ending. The survey found that more than a third (40%) said that they suffered from ‘the ick’ when they’re in relationships, with 74% of those subsequently breaking up with a partner because of these deal-breaking habits.
4. Subway reveals plans to create EV charging Oasis Parks for drivers
As new charging stations roll out across the US, future plans for innovative Subway destination chargers are on the cards so EV owners can get Subway cookies while they wait to charge.
Footlong sandwich experts Subway, and GenZ EV Solutions have joined forces to build what they are calling the EV Charging Oasis of the future across the US. The idea is to create a more seamless experience for EV drivers with charging parks at select locations that include a Subway restaurant, covered charging ports, picnic tables, Wi-Fi, bathrooms, green space and even playgrounds.
3. IKEA launches innovative free flat-pack car boot organiser

New research from Swedish furniture store IKEA has revealed that over half (52%) of Aussies admit to having a messy car boot, with 4 in 5 (79%) using their car boot for storage. 1. Police seize a Ford and Ferrari over the weekend in Canberra
An L-plater on a suspended license driving an unroadworthy car is among the people who have had their car seized in the National Capital over the weekend. ACT Policing had a busy weekend in Canberra, seizing two cars from two different incidents where the drivers clocked speeds of over 129 km/h in 80 zones.
Police were able to use recently passed legislation changes in the ACT which allows for immediate suspension of a driver’s licence and the ability to seize a vehicle for up to 90 days when drivers are caught doing excessive speeds.
