Top Gear’s ‘reasonably priced’ Astra has hit online auction Ebay following the demise of the old format of the world famous car TV show.
After the well-publicised BBC split with Clarkson, May and Hammond, the Astra 1.6 Tech Line that once appeared in the ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ was given back to Vauxhall who decided to sell on the world-famous Astra with all the proceeds going to BEN - a charity set up for disadvantaged former motor industry workers.
The Astra, that has less than 5000km on the clock, has been modified for its Top Gear Test Track duties with the addition of a full-roll cage and five-point race harness seats.
According to the advert, any buyer interested in the Astra should be aware, in its current state, the small hatch isn’t road legal because Vauxhall engineers deactivated the airbags when fitting the roll-cage.
Famously driven by celebrities like Aaron Paul, Hugh Jackman, Will Smith and TV director, Ron Howard, the Astra has appeared in front of an estimated 350 million viewers in 170 different countries.
The famous Astra had originally sold on Ebay back in December 2015 for around $33,000 but the sale subsequently fell through.
