The new Toyota Halo fleet management platform will be able to monitor every move made by drivers of Toyota fleet vehicles when it’s introduced later this year.
Billed as a vital tool to help businesses optimise the management and operational efficiency of their vehicle fleets, Toyota Halo will be available to all Australian businesses via Toyota dealers in the first half of 2022.
The ground-breaking fleet management platform was developed in a partnership between Australia’s number one vehicle brand (and the nation’s biggest supplier of fleet vehicles) and Australian fleet management software specialist Fleetsu.
It employs connected vehicle technology now fitted in almost all Toyota models to remotely monitor driving data such as vehicle location, speed and fuel consumption in near real-time.
These include Toyota Camry, C-HR, Corolla, Fortuner, Granvia, HiAce, HiLux, Kluger, Prado, Prius, Prius V, RAV4 and Yaris vehicles built since 2019.
For the first time in Australia, the fully integrated Toyota Halo connected fleet management software will leverage a developing suite of ‘smart’ features that give business fleet operators “the power to process extensive data from thousands of vehicles through near real-time vehicle monitoring”.
Toyota says this data can then be used to optimise operations, increase productivity, improve time and cost efficiencies and enhance profitability, customer service and driver wellbeing.
The key feature of Toyota Halo is Real-Time Vehicle Monitoring, allowing fleet controllers to “locate your fleet of vehicles anytime, anywhere across Australia and be alerted of driver behaviours like speeding or long idling, to make more informed decisions”.
Toyota Halo will also provide fleet customers with real-time data on vehicle performance, fuel consumption and maintenance, as well an automatic logbooking function that logs vehicle activity in a dashboard that can be exported into multiple formats.
“Toyota is further developing its connected vehicle technology to provide high levels of safety and convenience to all customers,” said Toyota Australia’s sales, marketing and franchise operations chief Sean Hanley in a press release today.
“In the business world, our connected vehicle technology is now being applied through our Toyota Halo platform to help companies in Australia manage their fleet operations by using near real-time data to efficiently and effectively run and control fleet operations and help reduce business costs.”
Toyota Halo will initially be offered to large national fleet customers, before being rolled out to smaller businesses via Toyota dealers in the first half of 2022.
