Proving that toys with a meal aren’t just for kids, McDonald's Japan and Toyota’s sports offshoot, Gazoo Racing have teamed up for a limited edition Happy Meal toy.
From May 1st, a red GR Supra diecast model toy car from Tomica will be added to the Happy Meal surprises at restaurants on the islands of Kyushu and some stores in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Those living in the mid and northern areas of the country including Tokyo will miss out. Just like us!
Gazoo Racing have released a video to celebrate the collaboration on their YouTube channel. Drift Twins Daigo Saito and Nobuteru Taniguchi take two GR Supras and work their drifting magic around a giant burger and fries.
This inclusion into the Happy Meal or ‘Happy Set’ as it is known in Japan is to commemorate toy company Tomica's 50th anniversary. The company known for its diecast cars, created a lineup of eight collectables including one secret toy car to be released on May 1st.
As well as the GR Supra, Happy Meal goers could also land themselves a toy Mazda CX-5 police car and a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT500.
Tomica diecast cars are available here in Australia, but no word on whether we will see a GR Supra join the lineup. Considering a GR Supra will set you back $85,000+, a diecast version seems more attainable.
