Toyota LandCruiser Altitude returns
Value-added limited edition model puts in an encore performance – with $5000 worth of extrasToyota has announced yet another batch of the extra-value LandCruiser Altitude, a year on from the previous batch.
LandCruiser – recently notching up its 300,000th sale in Australia – is Toyota's longest-serving nameplate in the local market. And the 'Altitude' moniker applied to the Big T's limited edition SUVs seems like it has been around forever as well.
So far, by our count, this makes the fourth batch of LandCruiser Altitude to be released by Toyota since the local launch of the 200 Series model in 2007.
Like the 2013 rendition, the latest LandCruiser Altitude is trimmed to GXL turbo-diesel specification with premium paint, adding equipment Toyota claims to be worth $5000. That figure includes the premium paint, along with larger 18-inch alloy wheels with lower-profile tyres, black leather-accented interior, premium-wrapped steering wheel and gear-shift knob, power front seats, front foglights and cool box.
In other words, exactly the same specifications as the 2013 batch.
Toyota is offering the LandCruiser Altitude in a choice of five colours: Crystal Pearl and Eclipse Black (both previously reserved for VX and Sahara), Silver Pearl, Graphite and Shimmer.
The price – $91,220 – is just $1505 more than the donor vehicle and Toyota is capping production numbers for the LandCruiser Altitude at just 600 units.
