Toyota has announced a new edition of the RAV4 Altitude, featuring items over and above the specification of the entry-level RAV4 CV.
Unlike the model announced at this time last year, the new RAV4 Altitude will be based on manual and auto versions of the front-drive RAV4, in addition to the 4WD model, although the all-paw version will be auto-only this time around.
Toyota's plant in Japan will build 1500 units for the Australian market during the months of July through to September. Those cars will offer 17-inch alloy wheels, in lieu of the RAV4 CV's steel wheels, front fog lights, silver roof rails, exclusive badging, a silver front bumper appliqué and privacy glass for the rear and rear/side.
Inside, the RAV4 Altitude also comes with a premium steering wheel and gear-shift knob, six-disc CD audio unit with LCD display and USB/Bluetooth connectivity with audio-streaming facility.
Buyers will be able to choose from five exterior colours: White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Pearl, Graphite, Ebony and Wildfire (metallic/pearl paint available as an additional cost option).
As was the case for the previous batch of RAV4 Altitude, the new model is priced $500 higher than the standard RAV4 CV. Pricing for the limited edition model starts off at $29,490 ($500 more than the front-wheel drive RAV4 CV manual), rising by $2000 to $31,490 for the auto variant. The all-wheel drive model of the RAV4 Altitude auto is $34,490.
