Toyota has announced that it will mark three-and-a-half decades of the Toyota Supra with a special commemorative limited-edition.
Available both with the four-cylinder and more powerful six-cylinder engine, the new 2021 Toyota Supra 35th Anniversary Special Edition misses out on mechanical upgrades but gets a whole host of visual tweaks.
Set to be sold in Japan only, Toyota says it plans to make just 70 of the Supra 35th Anniversary models.
Both models get 19-inch forged alloy rims that are finished in matte black while inside there's carbon accents on the dash ahead of the passenger seat.
If you opt for the four-cylinder (SZ-R) that's priced from ¥6,535,000 ($A80,500), the anniversary Supra gets red brake callipers and matte black mirror caps and is available with five different colours, including Lightning Yellow paint. Inside, there's Alcantara and leather trim.
Choose the six-pot version (RZ) and the limited-edition costs ¥6,535,000 ($A97,000) and gets full leather seats and wireless charging but is only available in Storm Grey paint that's combined with red seats.
Toyota says it will limit production to just 35 four-cylinder and 35 six-cylinder celebratory Supras, with the car-maker to stage a raffle on September 7 to select buyers.
Back in Australia, Toyota has only just introduced updates to the fast fifth-gen coupe that sees power boosted to 285kW for the BMW-sourced turbo inline six-cylinder. Engineers have also stiffened the suspension and made numerous other improvements to the chassis.
