Owners of older Toyota Supra models will soon be able to purchase new spare parts for their vehicles, thanks to Gazoo Racing’s new venture, GR Heritage Parts.
Gazoo Racing says GR Heritage Parts will reproduce and sell spares for ‘old-school’ Toyota performance models including the 2000GT built from 1967-1970), as well as the A70 (1986-93) and A80 (1993-2002) Supra models, for “owners who truly love their vehicles” so they can “race on for many years to come”.
The list of parts to be made available for each model can be found on the GAZOO Racing website. It includes body panels, headlights, brake and clutch assembly components and a range of others depending on the model year.
Gazoo Racing says more information will be announced soon, as it works hard to reproduce as many parts as possible.
It’s not yet clear whether GR Heritage Parts will be available in Australia, but it’s possible if there is demand.
“Currently we have no plans to offer the parts locally,” said a Toyota Australia spokesperson. “But if there’s interest, we’ll look at it.”
Used vehicle prices have risen in recent months and the popular A80 Supra is no exception, but there are more than 40 second-hand Supras currently available at carsales, with prices starting from under $30,000 and topping out at more than $120,000.
Based on the BMW Z4, the latest fifth-generation Toyota Supra released in 2019 is priced between $87,126 (GT) and $97,126 (GTS) before on-road costs and powered by a 285kW turbo-petrol 3.0-litre inline six.
