Toyota’s performance partner Gazoo Racing has just released a number of cosmetic and performance-enhancing upgrades for the all-wheel-drive GR Yaris pocket rocket.
Gazoo Racing, which developed the Yaris GR’s 200kW/370Nm three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the ground up, now offers a pumped-up front bumper with lip spoiler, side skirts and a new rear bumper, diffuser and a pair of dual exhaust outlets.
These body kit add-ons lower the already stocky car by another 12mm, plus there's a roof spoiler extension and a hefty-looking front strut tower brace can be added to improve the vehicle’s torsional rigidity.
For racetrack work there’s even a data recorder, which records in-depth telemetry to an SD card to be analysed later on computer or via Bluetooth on a related smartphone app.

Smaller accessories like GR-branded tyre valve caps, carbon-fibre accents and body decals are also offered, along with cabin upgrades such as carpet mats and door panel inserts.
When the GR Yaris hot hatch arrives in November, these accessories would elevate the hatchback’s visuals and performance.
A spokesperson for Toyota Australia said there are “no announcements” concerning Gazoo Racing parts coming to Australia at this stage.
“But I wouldn’t rule it out for the future,” the spokesperson said.
The Toyota GR Yaris is the GR (Gazoo Racing) sub-brand’s second offering after the Supra GR.

Sporting a wider, more muscular look, the GR Yaris is powered by a 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (200kW/370Nm) paired solely with a six-speed manual transmission.
Expected to sprint from 0-100km/h in under six seconds, the nuggety lump of fury is designed to be driven on road and track, its all-wheel-drive system able to shunt up to 100 per cent of power to the rear axle.
It’s fitted with bigger brakes, advanced suspension and sticky performance tyres and will be a lot more expensive than regular Yaris models as a result.
The rally-bred hot hatch could be priced north of $50,000 which would make it more of a Honda Civic Type R rival than a Golf GTI battler.
Stay tuned for Australian price and spec.
