Transformer Deepal E07 Multitruck priced for Oz

Electric SUV that transforms into a ute will start cheaper than forecast

The SUV-ute transformer Deepal E07 Multitruck electric vehicle has undercut Australian pricing expectations.

Tipped to start around $80,000 back when carsales drove it in China in February, the E07 will instead launch here in the third quarter of 2025 priced from $64,900 plus on-road costs (ORCs).

That’s for the single-motor rear-wheel-drive version, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant will cost $73,900 plus ORCs.

Both models come with the same ability to transform from a five-seat SUV coupe to a two-seat ute with a 300kg payload at the touch of several buttons.

Deepal Australia general manager Cormac Cafolla announced the pricing and opened pre-orders at last weekend’s Melbourne Motor Show.

The E07 was on display alongside the Chinese brand’s local debut model, the S07 electric SUV, and the compact S05, which also launches in Australia before the end of the year and for which pre-orders also opened at the show.

The Deepal G318 Toyota Prado rival remains under consideration but is not yet confirmed.

The rear-wheel-drive E07 Multitruck is powered by a 252kW/365Nm e-motor, while the all-wheel-drive variant ups that to 440kW/645Nm.

Both vehicles come with an 88.98kWh NMC battery pack that delivers a claimed (NEDC) 642km for the RWD and 626km for the AWD.

The E07 supports an 800-volt electric architecture that is claimed to add 350km in as little as 15 minutes.

Interior features include a floating and rotating 15.4-inch infotainment touch-screen, 28.88-inch head-up display, Nappa leather trim, massaging front seats, dual-zone air-conditioning and a “full suite” of safety systems including reverse auto-driving.

“We expect it [E07] to excite the market; we expect it to shake it up a little bit,” Cafolla said.

“It is a transformable SUV-ute; we’ve codenamed it kinda passionately, a Multitruck.

“We think it’s a car that represents something new in the market. I won’t give you a sales volume but I think the market is excited about it.

“We saw that at the [Sydney] electric vehicle show and it’s really important for us this weekend [in Melbourne] to talk to people who aren’t necessarily dedicated to buying an EV, who want something that fits a lifestyle that just happens to be electric.”
