Trivett guns for Lotus in NSW

British sports car marque gains a CBD outlet in premium Sydney location

The Trivett group has broadened its grip on the exclusive-car market with the establishment of a new showroom and servicing facility for Lotus cars in Sydney.

The new operation at 52 William Street in the heart of Sydney's CBD is due to become fully operational in early March.

It will bring the British marque into the same fold as Bentley, which went under Trivett stewardship at the same address in April 2008.

The new outlet joins the existing Australia-wide network of Lotus dealers and will be the sole Sydney-based official sales and servicing operation.

The general manager of Lotus Cars Australia, Jonathan Stretton, said the new showrooms will be an appropriate venue for the launch of the new Evora model which will make its first Australian appearance at the Melbourne International Motor Show this week.

"In the lead-up to the major launch of the Evora, it's both appropriate and encouraging that Lotus will be working in Sydney with such a professional and highly regarded organisation," he said.

"The Trivett Group has established itself over 25 years as a premium brand, much like Lotus, and we are naturally delighted to be a part of each other's future," he continued.

Thoroughbred marques already in the Trivett stable include Rolls-Royce and Bugatti. The group employs more than 500 people and adds more than 7000 sales a year to the Australian new-car tally.

Trivett's executive chairman Greg Duncan said: "Trivett is delighted to represent Lotus in Sydney.

It is fitting that as we celebrate 25 years of prestige motoring in 2009, we are reunited with such a dynamic brand that has been a part of our past -- and will now be a part of our future."

The Trivett group has some familiarity with Lotus. It operated a Lotus outlet in Sydney 10 years ago.
