Tune in to The Car Show

This week, The Car Show crew decides which is better: two wheels or four

Dieter Kahsnitz and David Morley are at it again on Channel Nine's 'The Car Show', shown 1pm Saturday, with a bike versus car duel.

Which is the better choice? Obviously, the bike is cheaper to fill, quicker across town and gets the best parks, but with a car you can take more passengers, it's a comfortable ride and is practical in all weather conditions.

Dieter's weapon of choice is the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 bike - an evolution of the original 955, a fantastic café racer style bike. From its menacing bug-eye headlights to its upswept race-style exhaust, the 1050 Triple looks the goods.

David has chosen practicality with the latest FPV GT, which he reckons looks the business, goes like a scalded cat and is totally useable on a day to day basis.

Dieter and David battle rain, shine, traffic and the track to see who reigns supreme in the battle of two wheels against four.

Also this week we share the motoring passion with Bruce Helms, who got his first hot rod 21 years ago as reward for giving up smoking. But the addiction that replaced cigarettes has grown over the years and Bruce now has five hot rods parked around the place.

And we find out what all the fuss is about the Volkswagen Golf GTi, skipping the rather long waiting list to get behind the wheel, albeit briefly, of VW's newest, hottest hatch.

Next week our newest member of The Car Show team -- Samantha Stevens -- joins David Morley to help build the world’s fastest Toyota Corona wagon. The only logical way to make a car go faster is to improve its power-to-weight ratio. Improving the power bit usually involves the exchange of large bundles of legal tender... Not an option in this case, so the other way to go, of course, is to lose weight and that's what they put to the test at the Heathcote Park Raceway.

The Car Show is on air this Saturday afternoon at 1pm and Wednesday evenings at 11.45pm.
