Turn your Toyota RAV4 into a Lamborghini SUV

For just $3500 you can transform your conventional RAV4 into an Italian thoroughbred!

Do you love your new Toyota RAV4 but find yourself yearning for an exotic look and feel?

Japanese aftermarket supplier Albermo has you covered with its intriguing Lamborghini Urus upgrade bodykit dubbed XR51.

For around $A3500 (¥240,000) – not including postage or exterior paint – you can get add the sort of eye candy that will turn more heads than a Ford Mustang down at the local Woolies carpark.

By adding an audaciously angular front apron with honeycomb-shaped lateral inserts exactly the same as the Lamborghini Urus, you can get the Lambo look for a total of around $40,000, not $400,000.

Other bodacious bodywork additions include reworked side skirts and a half rear spoiler.

While you can get the Lamborghini Urus look for the price of decent bicycle, you won't get the Lambo's thumping 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. The red-hot engine gives the Italian stallion a (478kW/850Nm) a stultifying 305km/h top speed a cheek-rippling 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.6 seconds.

The RAV4 on the other hand makes do with a modest 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (152kW/243Nm) available with hybrid augmentation (163kW/221Nm) for few extra grand.

Although the RAV4 is not a bitumen bullet, it will certainly look like it with a set of 22-inch wheels and the Albermo kit.

Like the V8 powertrain, the exotic interior design of the Lamborghini Urus also remains out of reach for the Toyota RAV4.

The Lamborghini Urus' interior is radical, while the RAV4's is conventional

However if you look at the price difference ($400,000 for the Lambo versus $30,990 for the RAV4 GX and another $4000-ish for the body kit), it's a cheap way to convince the neighbours you've just been promoted to the position of junior vice president at work.

The Toyota RAV4 has been a sell-out success in Australia and a strong seller globally.

Launched back in 1994, the Toyota RAV4 has found more than 10 million buyers across the world in that time, making it one of the most popular SUVs ever made.

With the advent of this striking Lamborghini-inspired body kit enhancement, it's surely destined to become even more popular.

Even the Albermo badge imitates the Lamborghini design
