Volkswagen's Eos coupe-convertible has scored top spot in the Sports Car category in this year's Carsales Network People's Choice Awards.
The Golf-based four-passenger convertible repeated last year's winning performance in the Carsales awards, coming home ahead of a string of competitors including Audi's TT and TTS coupe and roadster, and Mazda's MX-5.
According to Volkswagen Group Australia's Managing Director, Jutta Dierks, "Succeeding in the People's Choice Awards is of particular importance to Volkswagen, as it reflects the Eos' popularity amongst the public.
Since its launch in 2007 the Eos has gone from strength to strength and is obviously at the top of every buyer's shopping list."
Introduced locally in March 2007, the Eos joined the growing ranks of metal-roofed hardtop convertibles in a genre that has become increasingly popular since the launch of the two-seat Mercedes-Benz SLK in 1997.
The Eos is available in two-litre petrol FSI or turbo TFSI form, or as a two-litre turbodiesel. It also offers the option of VW's six-speed DSG transmission.
