Continental Tyres is sponsoring this year's Holden Racing Team in a partnership that sees the tyre brand featuring prominently on the 2012 HRT Commodores driven by V8 Supercar champions Gareth Tander and James Courtney.
HRT managing director Steve Hallam said there are a number of synergies between Continental and its existing sponsor group that will allow the introduction of a new range of programmes.
Continental Tyres general manager Steve Brown was equally enthusiastic, saying that the partnership was exciting for the company.
"The opportunity to join the Holden Racing Team, Australia's most reputable and popular V8 Supercar team was too good to pass up," said Brown. "HRT's on-track achievements and our success on the roads with our premium tyres continually impresses industry experts and the public alike.
"While Continental did win the recent 50th Anniversary Rolex Daytona 24 Hour, motorsport remains a largely untapped arena for Continental."
Continental is the number one tyre in Europe, and the brand features on one in every three new European cars.
