Tony Antonacci, of Warrandyte, Victoria, has won a trip for himself and his wife Ruxsana to France for the running of the Le Mans 24 Hours next month.
His name was drawn after he purchased a set of four Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres for his VE Calais from Bob Jane T-Marts in Doncaster. The competition ran between March 18 and April 30 this year, with every entry winning a Ticketmaster gift card of up to $100. “I am so excited about winning this once in a life time trip to the Le Mans 24 Hour, my wife and I have already started to brush up on our French!” said Antonacci.
Congratulating the winner, Thierry Martin, MD of Michelin Australia, explained the long-standing link between the tyre company and the iconic French race.
“The Le Mans 24 Hours is a race like no other; it is an endurance race that is the ultimate test for the drivers, cars, and of course their tyres. For Michelin, races like the Le Mans 24 Hours provide a proving ground to test new technology and innovations, which are then incorporated into our road tyres – particularly our Pilot range."
The Antonaccis will see behind the scenes of the Michelin R&D program as part of the itinerary for the trip, in addition to a helicopter flight over the track, a pit walk, garage tours, a dinner at the 'Legend' Cafe at Le Mans and an overnight stay at Hotel Mercure Tours Nord.
Away from the track they will also spend a night in Paris, sightseeing and enjoying lunch and dinner.
