Aston Martin has released a second, more sonorous soundbite of its new twin-turbocharged V12 engine destined for the upcoming Vanquish coupe.
Following on from the initial teaser in May, the delectable audio clip was posted to a dedicated Vanquish landing page on the brand’s global website along with a montage of artistic close-ups of the savage new mill the brand hopes to rival Ferrari with.
Pitched as the new-generation replacement for the aging DBS, very little is known about the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish other than the fact it will be good for 613kW/1000Nm and retain the brand’s signature cab-back silhouette after initially being conceived as a mid-engine supercar.
Its 12-cylinder heart started life as the familiar DBS V12 but has been treated to a strengthened block, new conrods, redesigned the cylinder-heads, reprofiled the camshafts, developed new intake and exhaust ports, repositioned the spark plugs, higher-flow injectors and fitted new low-inertia turbos, the latter said to offer more boost and less lag.
It seems the blowers have already earned their keep seeing as the Vanquish will develop considerably more torque than its archrival, the box-fresh Ferrari 12Cylindri – the free-breathing 6.5-litre V12 of which screams out 611kW/678Nm.
An official reveal date hasn’t been set for the Vanquish at the time of writing, but it would be reasonable to expect some sort of debut before the end of the year ahead of a global release sometime next year.
