A significantly updated range of 2024 LDV Deliver 9 diesel vans and buses has arrived in Australia.
Originally launched in 2020, the LDV Deliver 9 now offers key improvements including Euro 6 compliance, a boost in engine power and torque, and a series of other technical changes and new safety features. Visual differentiation is limited to a new gloss black radiator grille.
Prices are also up, but capped price servicing and a warranty massively boosted from three years/160,000km to seven-years/200,000km warranty herald ownership improvements for the Chinese large van.
Pricing now starts at $51,568 plus on-road costs or $48,990 drive-away for ABN holders purchasing the cheapest medium wheelbase mid-roof Deliver 9 large van. By comparison, the most affordable 2023 Deliver 9 was the $46,305 drive-away long wheelbase mid-roof.
Meanwhile, the cheapest Ford Transit starts at $59,990 plus on-road costs and the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is priced from $66,762.
The entry-level Deliver 9 light bus is the medium wheelbase mid-roof 11-seater for $64,200 plus on-road costs, or $60,990 drive-away for ABN holders. It was previously priced at $59,989 drive-away. The full price list for the 10 model (five vans and five buses) range is at the bottom of this story.
Capped price servicing over three-years or 95,000km comes in at $2510.
The 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine powering the LDV Deliver 9 has been boosted 20kW to 128kW and 45nm to 420Nm. It also now complies with Euro 6 emissions that impose strict limits on the release of certain harmful gases and particulate matter, particularly nitrogen oxides (NOx) and hydrocarbons. The engine is coupled to an eight speed ZF automatic transmission – already seen in the T60 Max plus ute – to drive the rear wheels.
New standard safety items fitted to the Deliver 9 include Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Door Opening Warning, Emergency Lane Keeping, Electronic Park Brake, and front parking sensors.
The additions helped the Deliver 9 upgrade from bronze to gold in ANCAP’s latest Commercial Van Safety Comparison.
Other updated mechanical features include a new electric power steering system (mated to a new multifunction steering wheel) and adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality.
Inside, there is an upgraded 12.3-inch infotainment system (up from 10.1-inch on MY23 vehicles) with Apple CarPlay and new Android Auto, digital radio and a high-definition rearview camera (the latter not available in the cab chassis variant).
