Updated Audi Q5 and SQ5 priced

Price cuts for Audi's refreshed mid-size SUV

Australian pricing and specifications have been announced for the upgraded 2019 Audi Q5 and SQ5 range, which is available in showrooms now – just in time to compete with the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLC.

The mid-size luxury SUV line-up is now priced from $65,900 before on-road costs in base-spec Q5 40 TDI design guise (down $800 from last year’s model), with minor price cuts extending to nearly every variant in the range.

In base-spec ‘design’ guise, customers can choose from the 40 TDI ($65,900) with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that pushes out 140kW/400Nm or, for another $1000, the 45 TFSI quattro that uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 185kW/370Nm.

Standard features on refreshed ‘design’ models include new 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, in-built navigation, lane assist and high beam assist.

Mid-range ‘sport’ variants with the 40 TDI and 45 TFSI engines now come standard with a panoramic glass sunroof, a 360-degree parking camera, auto-dimming side mirrors and heated front seats with driver’s seat memory function.

‘Sport’ variants are now priced from $71,600 (plus ORCs) in 40 TDI guise and $73,500 (plus ORCs) in 45 TFSI spec.

Even though it gains sportier S Line exterior trim and Milano leather upholstery, pricing remains the same for the updated Q5 50 TDI ($84,700 plus ORCs), which receives a more powerful 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel that pumps out 210kW of power and 620Nm of torque.

An extensive range of active safety equipment is fitted across all variants in the range, including autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, driver attention alert, rear cross traffic alert and eight airbags.
