The upgraded Lexus LC Coupe is now on sale in Australia, bringing up to 10 engineering changes, improved luxury levels, new colours and trims and price hikes of around $5000.
Now priced at $194,747 plus on-road costs, the Lexus LC 500 Coupe is $4955 pricier than before, while the Lexus LC 500h Coupe now costs $195,165 (up $4815).
As we’ve detailed previously, the refresh of the flagship Lexus sports coupe – which will be joined by the first LC Convertible later this year and, eventually, a twin-turbo V8-powered LC F super-coupe – brings an updated 10-speed automatic transmission, more standard equipment like a heated steering wheel and a series of chassis tweaks.
These include lighter forged aluminium front suspension components and a hollow rear stabiliser bar, revised front anti-roll bar, additional instrument cowl bracing, modified Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) shock absorbers, new coil spring rates all round, revised power steering and rear-wheel steering systems, and lighter rear 21-inch alloy wheels.
Together, the chassis changes are said to reduce weight and increase body stiffness, improving cornering agility and stability, and steering response and feedback.
Powering the updated Lexus LC 500 is the same 351kW/540Nm naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8, but its 10-speed automatic transmission brings new software that promises greater responsiveness and upshifts at higher engine speeds.
Lexus LC 500h hybrid models are powered by the same 264kW/350Nm 3.5-litre V6 petrol-electric powertrain matched to a carryover four-speed continuously variable Shiftmatic transmission.
An optional $15,000 Enhancement Pack includes an active rear wing, carbon-fibre roof and scuff plates, dynamic rear steering (DRS), 10-way power-adjustable sports front seats and a Torsen limited-slip differential (standard on LC 500 variants), among other things.
Standard driver assistance features include blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control and more.
Other features include a colour head-up display, dual-zone climate control, triple-stack LED headlights with cornering lamps and washers, retractable door-handles with illumination, rain-sensing wipers, sports pedals and active noise control.
Inside the cabin, LC models get an LFA-style 8.0-inch instrument cluster and a 10.3-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, digital radio and voice control. A 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system is also standard.
The updated Lexus LC Coupe comes with two new exterior paint options – Carnelian red and Khaki Metal green – as well as two new interior trim options: Flare Red and Manhattan Henge (sunset orange colour).
Lexus LC buyers receive a three-year membership to the Japanese luxury brand’s Encore owner benefits program.
