Mahindra Australia has rolled out to its local dealer network the first shipment of an upgraded XUV500 with a minor facelift and upgraded interior.
The new model arrives at the same price as the superseded XUV500 – $29,900 for the two-wheel drive or $32,900 for the all-wheel drive model. Both prices are inclusive of on-road costs.
The changes to the XUV500 amount to a new grille with chrome inserts, new static cornering lights, revised fog lights with chrome bezels, chrome window moulds, redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels and a rear tailgate garnish in chrome. Inside, the XUV500 now features a seven-inch touch screen for infotainment, new black upholstery, new scuff plates for the door sills and LED dome lights.
For the moment the XUV500, powered by a 2.2-litre diesel four-cylinder developing 103kW and 330Nm, is available with a six-speed manual transmission only. But the importer plans for automatic variants to join the range from May, equipped with an Aisin six-speed unit. Official combined-cycle fuel consumption for the front-wheel drive manual variant is 6.7L/100km.
