Mazda Australia has boosted the appeal of its smallest model by offering all Mazda2 models with USB connectivity as standard across the range.
The move, which brings no price increase, allows Mazda2 drivers and passengers to connect their iPod, iPhone or memory device via a USB input located in the centre console.
Users will have the ability to control music selection and volume via the car’s steering wheel audio controls, while information such as artist, song and album names will be shown on the multi-information display if the USB device contains the necessary information.
Data is transferred from the device to the Mazda2’s audio system by a USB 2.0 connection and MP3, WMA and AAC file formats are supported.
In addition to USB connectivity, the Mazda2 range comes with a number of other running changes, all of which are now available to order.
Metallic and mica paint remain a no-cost option across the Mazda range, but the Mazda2’s Burgundy Red Mica exterior paint colour has been replaced by the new Stormy Blue Mica (pictured), while the silver centre cap on Maxx and Genki alloy wheels has now been changed to black, reflecting a design cue seen on the new CX-5.
