VACC announces Industry Awards

The Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC), which represents more than 5000 automotive businesses in Victoria, has announced the final 88 companies shortlisted for 2016 VACC Industry Awards.

With awards going to Victorian businesses that "clearly demonstrate … a dedication to quality" and offer "exceptional commitment to customers, staff, training, and their local community," the awards have attracted some major sponsors, including the likes of Bosch Service, Commonwealth Bank, Castrol, and even carsales.com.

Of the 88 finalists whittled down from the VACC's 5000 members, there will just over 20 winners judged by the VACC in categories such as auto electrical, body repair, mechanical repair, recycling, engine reconditioning, farm machinery, heavy vehicle repair, motorcycle dealers, new and used car dealers, service stations, towing, and tyres.

There will also be overall winners.

Geoff Gwilym, Executive Director of the VACC, said that the Industry Awards were a way to reward businesses' dedication to quality, which will be announced at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne on Saturday May 7, with Shane Jacobson on hand as MC.

"These finalists really are the best in the Victorian automotive industry," stated Gwilym. "VACC was overwhelmed by the number of entries received from all over the state."
