This stunning retro-inspired road racer will be the main drawcard of London's Salon Prive motor show (due to be held from July 22 to 25 at London's Hurlingham Club).
The open-cockpit Veritas RSIII supercar harks back to 1940s BMW racers and, fittingly, its motive power also comes courtesy of the spinning propeller.
Under the long snout resides either a tweaked 353kW V8 or a 442kW V10, and the car's maker claims the ultra-minimalist roadster is capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in the 3sec bracket, while top whack is supposedly in excess of 320km/h.
Oh, and there are reportedly no electronic driver aids, so it'll presumably take a highly skilled wheelman to tame the beast. He (or she) will need to be well-heeled, too, as pricing for even the most basic models starts at $495k.
Exclusivity is guaranteed though as only 50 examples of the Veritas RSIII will be produced. We're guessing even finding this number of buyers could be a challenge in these dire economic times.
Not too much else in the way of tech details has been revealed as yet, but there's no doubting the visual appeal of the sensuously sculpted carbon-kevlar bodywork, while the toothy grille has parallels with recent offerings from niche manufacturer Fisker (more here).
Meanwhile, other attractions at the Salon Prive show will include the Morgan Aero SuperSports (more here), Aston Martin One-77 (more here) and Lotus Evora (more here).
Punters will need to dig deep into their wallets, as a one-day pass for the show costs a hefty £125 ($253). Phew!
