Verve II unveiled in China

Ford has revealed the second Verve concept, testing reaction to the next Fiesta's new look

Verve is the name Ford has chosen for the multi-car design project to preview the production version of the next Fiesta.

The first car, a three-door hatchback, was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show (more here) and now, the company has applied similar styling cues -- 'Kinetic design' in Ford's terms -- to the 'four-door notchback' seen at the Guangzhou motor show in China.

According to Ford, the launch of the second concept in China is a sign of Ford's interest in the growing market potential in China and it's also testament to Ford's aim for the Fiesta to be a global car.

A third concept will go on display in January next year, at the North American International Motor Show (NAIMS) in Detroit.

As for the Frankfurt car, the Guangzhou Verve was created by a design team based in Europe. It's joined on the stand at the Chinese motor show by the Frankfurt concept. Both vehicles are fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels in a 12-spoke design and employ interior functionality inspired by mobile phones.
