UPDATE 24/06/2016 6:00pm: Here are the first spy shots of Citroen's new baby, hot off the Automedia lens.
----------------------------------------------
Citroen has begun counting down the days until it reveals its all-new, third-generation C3 supermini with a social media onslaught on both Facebook and Twitter.
As part of the build-up, ahead of its launch on Wednesday, June 29 at 3:00pm CET (11:00pm Australian eastcoast time), the car-maker has released a short film that gives just a glimpse of the small five-door Fiesta rival's rear-end design.
Citroen says the new design will be a "powerful shape" that will "scream fun and optimism". In any case, the third instalment of the C3 will have a lot to live up to.
In two generations it has sold an incredible 3.6 million cars since the small hatch first went on sale back in 2002.
Rumoured to have been influenced by the design language introduced with the quirky C4 Cactus, the little C3 is thought to be shaping up as a left-field alternative to Peugeot's 208. The small Citroen will also share engines and transmissions with the 208.
