Porsche has launched a new special-edition version of the 911 Targa 4S on the Sicilian roads used for the legendary Targa Florio.
Created by Porsche Exclusive, the car-maker’s personalisation division, just 10 of the Exclusive Mayfair Editions will be made.
Each come with the standard 991’s 294kW/440Nm 3.8-litre flat-six that is capable of hitting 100km/h from a standing start in as little as 4.4 seconds; 400 metres comes up in 12.9 seconds and the 911 Mayfair will rocket on to a top speed of 294km/h.
Made to capture the spirit of the Targa Florio – a racePorsche has won more than any other car-maker – the limited Porsche comes with black Fuch recreation alloys and houndstooth upholstery.
Porsche hasn’t revealed how much the new special edition-costs, or whether any of the 10 will journey down to the Southern Hemisphere, but it will attract a healthy premium over the $287,200 (plus on-road costs) price tag of the standard 911 Targa 4S.
