VIDEO: Volvo proves it makes world’s strongest truck

New viral video dumps Van Damme for world’s strongest man and uses FH16 rig to pull 750 tonnes

Volvo Trucks has released a new viral film that sees former Strongman champ, Magnus Samuelsson, use a VH16 truck to pull an incredible 20 trailers that weigh a total of 750 tonnes.

Originally only designed to tow a maximum of 325 tonnes, the tractor leads a mobile load stretching out to more than 300 metres.

As you’ll see from the short film, it’s far from smooth sailing for Samuelsson, with the FH16 truck pulling a wheelie on its first attempt.

Eventually, thanks to the Volvo’s I-Shift gearbox (an unsynchronised manual gearbox with added crawler gears), one of the world’s strongest men manages to coax the Volvo to pull the impossibly large load without the automated pneumatic clutch being blown to smithereens.
