The images also show how VW plans to differentiate the frontal styling of the sedan and wagon, with the latter getting different treatment around its front splitter.

At the rear of the Arteon Shooting brake, the wagon shares the sedan's tail lamps but gets a different rear bumper and exhaust tips.

According to the Chinese blog, the wagon shares a similar footprint to the sedan and doesn't differ in width, or height and has an identical wheelbase.

Under the bonnet, for the Chinese market there's just one engine – a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that produces either 139kW or 164kW.

Stay tuned for the official reveal on June 24 for more relevant information for the Australian market.
