Volkswagen has released an official teaser rendering of its facelifted Arteon sedan and the new Shooting Brake wagon version that will join it when the drapes come off both models on June 24.
Posted online to preview the refreshed Volkswagen Arteon range, the image shows how Volkswagen designers will freshen up the sedan with a reprofiled front bumper featuring new air intakes.
Tweaked LED headlights and a more prominent front grille, plus an LED light bar that stretches the full width of its face, are other new additions to the Passat-based Arteon sedan first introduced back in 2017.The surprise Shooting Brake version, meanwhile, appears to have a very rakish rear-end, although the artistic renderings released by car-makers are renowned for their liberal use of poetic licence, so the production car is expected to be toned down.
Another difference to the sedan is that the stylish new Volkswagen wagon features a different, more aggressive front-end that's dominated by a pair of arrow-shaped side air intakes flanking a huge central intake.
Inside, the facelifted Volkswagen Arteon is claimed to be get an all-new cabin that lifts its latest MIB3 infotainment system from the upcoming VW Golf Mk8.
The four-door sedan and five-door wagon will also come with a larger 11.7-inch digital instrument panel and a 9.2-inch infotainment system.
New tech destined for Volkswagen's answer to cars like the Audi A5, is the German car-maker's Travel Assist semi-autonomous cruise control system that can steer, accelerate and brake the vehicle on the highway at speeds of up to 210km/h.
There's no word yet about what's happened under the bonnet, but it's thought that Volkswagen will introduce a new 180kW plug-in hybrid GTE variant as part of the midlife Arteon update.
Launch details, timing and pricing will follow shortly after the refreshed Arteon's reveal on June 24.
