Volkswagen Australia has scraped a mighty $12,000 off its core VW Touareg line-up before its heavily upgraded successor replaces it in the coming months.
The eyebrow-raising offer is valid until March 31 and applies to the final drive-away price of the luxury large SUV as opposed to the list price – translating to a new drive-away price of $86,020 drive-away for the base 170TDI in the context of a Sydney 2000 postcode, as opposed to the usual $98,020 drive-away price.
Unlike other carsales pricing articles, you won’t find a price table at the bottom of this report because on-road costs vary between states and territories, and the fact a national drive-away offer isn’t part of this promo.
But for the sake of clarity, the mid-range 210TDI Elegance moves from $117,998 drive-away (in Sydney) to $105,998 drive-away, and the 210TDI R-Line goes from $127,763 to $115,763 drive-away.
Readers sitting tight and waiting for news on the Touareg R will be disappointed to read the performance halo isn’t included in the promo, given it’s only being offered here in facelifted form and therefore not due to arrive for another few months.
“Following a recent significant supply boost across the Volkswagen Touareg range, the new offer comes ahead of the facelifted range arriving from April/May 2024,” said Volkswagen Australia.
“The Volkswagen Touareg is available to take home today across Volkswagen’s 100-plus dealerships nationwide.”
A similar promo is in place for the lower half of the 2024 Volkswagen Amarok range, except the ute offer nets customers a $5000 discount off the manufacturer’s list price and bundles in a five-year service package worth $1800, which sees the German brand’s dual-cab temporarily undercut its equivalent Ford Ranger donor model.
