Volkswagen updates Caddy and T6 range

Volkswagen Australia has announced the 2017 model year for Caddy and T6 Transporter, plus their respective people-mover derivatives.

In addition to a standard electric-powered tailgate for the Multivan Highline/Executive variants, the entire T6 van and people mover range now comes equipped as standard with improved USB connectivity for the iPhone, and AppConnect for the audio system.

The Caddy gains new exterior colours and standard Climatronic air conditioning with an anti-allergen filter, which has also been introduced recently to the Golf passenger-car range.

Coinciding with the announcement, Volkswagen has also released a series of special offers – driveaway pricing for Transporter, Crafter, Caddy Maxi Trendline and Caravelle, plus a reduced price of $38,990 for the Amarok TDI400 dual-cab manual. The 2016 model year 'Runner' editions for Transporter and Crafter are available while stocks last, and the driveaway pricing applies to vehicles purchased prior to the end of this year.

Additionally, Volkswagen is showering Amarok buyers with factory bonuses for Core Plus, Highline and Atacama variants, and any Amarok variant purchased prior to September 30 and financed through Volkswagen will be sold with a five-year warranty.

"Our vans and people movers remain the choice for owners and operators seeking premium quality and car-like driving experience," said Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Carlos Santos.

"Caddy, Transporter and Crafter have 79 variants between van, crewvan and cab chassis form," he continued.

"To these, add 10 purely passenger variants across the combined Caddy People Movers, Multivan and Caravelle ranges and you have an extremely diverse range of vehicles that can't be beaten on value.

"Other brands might offer cheaper white tin entrants, but when you get into the meat of the ranges – the vehicles that people who have to drive them really want – we win both on sticker price and equipment."
