Volvo has announced that it will have sold a total of a million electrified cars by 2025.
The ambitious plan to cut emissions will be achieved, says the Swedish car-maker, by introducing at least two hybrid versions of every model it makes.
Volvo also confirmed its first mass-produced pure-electric vehicle will go on sale in 2019.
As well as the pledge to sell a million hybrids and pure-electric cars set out in its annual Sustainability Report, the Swedish car-maker also said it would commit to becoming a ‘climate neutral’ car-maker by 2025 and have 35 per cent of all its senior Volvo executives jobs held by women.
Volvo also reiterated its aim that, by 2020, no one will be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.
