The annual Wörthersee Tour in Austria is the biggest Volkswagen jamboree in the world (the four-day event attracts around 150,000 people), and VW plans to make some noise at this year's event with this orange, black and grey Amarok Power concept that houses a 5000-watt sound system.
The mobile disco is based on a single-cab Amarok that's pimped up via a GTI-style front bumper/splitter, above which resides a pair of bi-xenon headlights and a two-bar grille. The cosmetic makeover also brings chunky wheelarch flares, side skirts, orange-and-black livery on the flanks and smoked LED taillights.
The whole lot rides on lowered suspension and 22-inch rims with 295/35 rubber, and peeping through the hoops are orange painted brake calipers that complement the graphics between the wheelarches.
Inside, there's lashings of nappa leather and carbonfibre-look trim on the dashboard, steering wheel and centre console, all of which provides stark contrast to the orange highlights laced throughout the cabin.
There are also oil pressure and turbo boost gauges mounted on top of the dashboard, even though the 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine is bog-standard, serving up 200kW and 600Nm for a 0-100km/h dash of 7.9sec.
However, the centrepiece of the concept is a Xone: 92 Allen & Heath DJ kit, a Pioneer CDJ900NXS player, two Void Acoustics Impulse 3t speakers, a Stasys Xair subwoofer and six micro speakers.
All these individual components have been designed to fit in the 3.5-square-metre loading area of the Amarok in a storage concept dubbed 'compact-cube'.
As with most concepts rolled out at the Wörthersee festival, the Amarok Power concept is purely a design study and there are no plans for even a low-volume production model.
