Volkswagen will present its most exclusive Mark VI yet at this year's Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, the limited edition Golf GTI adidas.
Following in a similar vein to previous limited production models like the Golf Pirelli GTI, which coincidentally appeared at the Sydney Motor Show in 2008, the new Golf GTI adidas is recognised by 'Serron' 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps with dynamic cornering lights, dark tinted tail lamps and the obligatory adidas badges, located on the B-pillars.
Inside, the custom black-red sport seats, designed in consultation with adidas, set a striking tone to the sporty cabin, matching adidas logos and 'flash red' head restraints a highlight of the fabric/leather combination pews.
Sharing a similar sporting theme, colour-contrasting decorative door inlays, aluminium trim accents, special floor mats and golf-ball-grip gear shift knob complete the custom cabin.
Standard features include Golf's RCD 510 infotainment system, Media Device Interface (iPod/iPhone) and Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity.
Golf GTI adidas is offered in two GTI-specific non-metallic colours, Candy White and Tornado Red in a nod to Volkswagen's GTI history.
Like all Golf GTIs, the Golf GTI adidas also offers the sport, electronic transverse differential lock (XDL) and GTI-specific ESP tuning.
Power comes courtesy of the same 155kW turbocharged petrol engine found in all Mark VI GTI models and is available in Australia mated exclusively to Volkswagen's sharp-shifting six-speed DSG transmission.
The special edition Volkswagen Golf GTI adidas five-door is available now from $45,990.
