Wagoner addresses GM's future

GM CEO announces plant closures and reduced truck output, Hummer under a cloud and the Volt to go into production

General Motors has committed to a major restructure of its manufacturing infrastructure over the next few years. The global giant will close light truck plants and refocus its sales targets on a larger share of the passenger car market.

CEO for General Motors, Rick Wagoner, has officially announced in a video that corporation plans to cut light truck production and introduce new passenger cars such as the Volt electric car and a new compact model, as well as ramping up production for the popular mid-range siblings, the Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6.
