Walkinshaw Performance has put together a package of cosmetic and performance upgrade features to suit Holden's VE Commodore in homage to this weekend's running of the 50th anniversary touring car race at Bathurst.
Named for the late Tom Walkinshaw, a man not unfamiliar with the racetrack at Mount Panorama, the company has been offering bolt-on performance gear for those who reckon the HSV-modified Commodore just doesn't go far enough. This latest package, the Limited Edition Bathurst 50th Anniversary Pack, costs just under $22,000, but for that the buyer gets:
Special Edition VE Supercharger WP230 LS3/L98
Special Edition Cat Back Exhaust
Super Sport Steel Cat Headers
Carbon fibre exhaust tips
Walkinshaw Performance Golf Bag and Full Set of Clubs
Special Bathurst Anniversary Interior Badging
Special Bathurst Anniversary Super Charger Build Number Badging
Limited Edition History of Bathurst Book
Special Bathurst Anniversary Pack Certificate
According to press material from the company, the LS3-engined HSV fitted with this kit develops 480kW and 802N. For the L98-powered Commodore SS the output is 460kW and 780Nm. According to the company the power and torque hike is around 50 per cent more than the stock figures. The purchase price of $21,950 includes the cost of labour to fit the pack, which is also covered by Walkinshaw Performance's driveline warranty.
