When cars and photography combine: Autobarn Wax On Show Off winner announced

Inaugural Autobarn Wax On Show Off online Show n Shine competition has been run and won with over 1,200 participants vying for the grand prize.

There’s nothing quite like a meticulously styled and immaculately polished photo of a car to show off your pride and joy. That was evidently clear in the inaugural Autobarn Wax On Show Off competition, an online Show n Shine event that recently crowned a winner.

Autobarn said that their goal was to create Australia’s largest national Show n Shine event and it appears to have proven to be a success. The three-week Autobarn Wax On Show Off comp ran from October 24 to November 13 2022 and attracted more than 1,200 entries.

According to Simon Davenport, Bapcor Retail General Manager - Marketing, Wax On Show Off brought many outstanding vehicles of all types to Autobarn stores nationwide.

“Autobarn team members across the country have seen everything from trucks, a DeLorean, everyday drives, bikes and absolutely everything in between during the competition. The passion that Australians have for their vehicles is incredible and at Autobarn we’re always here to help people build and maintain their pride and joy.”

The inaugural Autobarn Wax On Show Off Grand Prize winner was Brody Cameron whose competition entry photo was taken at Autobarn Burnie in Tasmania. The winning picture was selected at random and received a $5,000 voucher to spend at any Autobarn store across the country.

“Honestly I'm a bit lost for words. I struggle to win rock-paper-scissors so when I heard that I had won the Autobarn Wax On Show Off competition grand prize of $5K to spend in store I really didn't know what to think. I was both overwhelmed and excited,” Brody said.

“When it comes to what I'm going to buy I'm not 100% sure as there is so much to pick from at Autobarn, but I would like to look into some new seats, head unit, dash cam and much more. I feel like there is so much to choose from that I need to sit down and have a good think about it. Thank you again Autobarn!” He added.

To be part of the online Show n Shine, participants needed to visit an Autobarn store, park their car or motorbike in front and take a photo of their vehicle and upload it to either Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #WaxOnShowOff. All entrants were broken up into 12 sub-categories which included Off-Road Warrior, Most Unique, Muscle Car, Japanese Domestic (JDM), Euro, Ute, Aussie Classic, Old School Cruiser, P-Plate Pride, Bike, Stance and Wagon.

Autobarn Gift Cards and special prize packs were also awarded to the sub-category winners from a prize pool worth over $20,000. After the success of the 2022 competition, Autobarn has assured fans that the Wax On Show Off competition will be back bigger and better in 2023.
