Trying to reach new demographics and widespread target markets, it doesn’t come as a surprise that we see brand and product collaborations continue to be on the rise, each unique in its own way. And here at carsales we have covered quite a few from Porsche and Puma, Lamborghini and 24Bottles and even McLaren and LEGO. The world of high end and aspirational luxury is no different.
Here are three recent auto and fashion brand collaborations that did not fail to impress.
In October 2020, New York-based lifestyle brand Kith collaborated with BMW to launch the BMW M4 Competition x Kith. The inspiration for this special partnership derived from Kith's founder Ronnie Fieg, who has been a lifelong BMW enthusiast. Spanning back to his childhood in the 1980s Ronnie would ride around in his grandfather's BMWs. Only 150 sleek cars were produced for this limited collection and all were sold out within one day!
Alongside this, Kith offered a 94 piece collection of high-fashion streetwear and accessories, which married the Kith style with BMW's iconic branding and colour palette. Kith's largest capsule to date included racing-inspired jackets, nylon tracksuits, graphic hoodies and t-shirts. The accessories in the collection were a car lover's dream, including auto-centric items such as driving gloves and license plate frames.
Where luxury automotive meets streetwear, Lamborghini x Supreme was born as part of their 2020 Spring collection released in April last year. Featuring a seven-item limited-edition capsule that included hooded jackets, t-shirts, jerseys, beanies and even skateboards. The collection brought forward the styling of the New York skateboarding brand, with the iconic bold black and yellow Lamborghini logo pressed onto each piece.
The eye-catching Lamborghini x Supreme pieces were available in classic black as well as bright neon orange and green tones, a celebration of some of the supercar maker's most famous models such as the Diablo, Aventador and Huracan.
Sharing a rich history of 75 years since both were first established, Dior and Vespa teamed up and produced the limited edition 2021 Vespa 946 x Christian Dior. The collaboration was released in April 2021 across Dior Boutiques and Piaggio Motoplex stores worldwide. Combining talents with the iconic Italian scooter brand Vespa, blended with the couture styling of the French fashion label Dior, a pure luxury two-wheeler was born, that celebrates the freedom of movement and expression that drives both brands.
The Vespa 946 Christian Dior features an exclusive patent beige colour, with retro gold accents and recognisable touches of Dior branding throughout including the blue saddle covered with the Dior oblique pattern and the more prominent display of its logo on the right side above the muffler. For those who want to complete the look, the collection includes a line of accessories including a luggage set and a matching helmet featuring the iconic Dior oblique motif.
