White remains the world's most popular car colour in 2020 with around 38 per cent of all cars sold globally in the unadventurous, yet highly visible, hue.
Proving most popular in China (57 per cent) and across Asia (48 per cent), the next best-selling colour in global terms was black (19 per cent) followed by grey (15 per cent).

According to Axalta, a major paint supplier to the car industry that conducted the research, silver now accounts for only nine per cent of all cars sold, with blue (seven per cent) and red (five per cent) only the fifth and sixth best-selling colours respectively.
Despite being this season's colour on Europe's catwalks, green-painted cars made up only one per cent of all vehicles sold in Europe and around the globe.

Almost breaking with the trend, Europe came close to usurping white, with grey level-pegging at 25 per cent of all vehicles sold within the region.
Perhaps even more depressing is the fact that 27 per cent of all white cars sold were solid white, with only 11 per cent painted with a pearl finish.
