Wild 600kW E-Legend EL1 revealed
New EV inspired by Audi Sport Quattro combines supercar pace with Porsche Taycan tech, but costs $1.6mGerman electric car-maker E-Legend has pulled the drapes off an incredible new creation inspired by the Audi Sport Quattro that features triple motors to produce a mighty 600kW.
The retro-looking 2021 E-Legend EL1 muscle car is claimed to be capable of a 0-100km/h time of just 2.8 seconds and a 400km range, plus the ability to complete two flat-out laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
At its heart is reportedly the same 800-volt electrical system and 90kWh battery pack used in the Porsche Taycan.
Weighing in at 1680kg, the EL1 gets 19-inch front alloys and larger 20-inch rear wheels, front and rear LED daytime running lamps and a bulging bonnet and proportions that look identical to the original.
To keep the batteries delivering maximum power at all times, E-Legend has developed what it describes as a sophisticated liquid cooling system.
Pictures of the cabin suggest the EL1 will feature a stripped-out feel, but one that won't miss out on any tech.
Witness the digital instrument cluster, advanced infotainment systems and small screens on either door projecting the rear view behind.
Just 30 examples of the E-Legend EL1 will be made, but if you fancy the Sport Quattro reboot you'll need deep pockets.
E-Legend says each car will be priced from €1 million ($A1.6m) – around what an original Audi Sport Quattro fetches in Europe.
