Alpine has teamed up with Argentinian-born artist Felipe Pantone to create an ultra-limited run of its Alpine A110S coupe art cars.
Just four cars will be made, and just three will be available to buy, with each selling for €125,000 ($A195,000).
All will get a hand-painted finish from Pantone, who began his creative career as a young graffiti artist in southern Spain.
According to Pantone, the A110's special red, white and blue finish he created for the French sports car was designed to provide the "impression of speed, even when the car stands still".
Since they are painted by hand, Alpine says the graphics will differ slightly across the four cars, with Pantone adding unique embellishments on each of them.
Beneath its custom paint, which takes several weeks to apply, the Alpine A110S art car is mechanically identical to the standard car.
That means it gets an additional 30kW over the regular A110, with the 1.8-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine’s power output lifting from 185kW to 215kW, but peak torque remains unchanged at 320Nm.
With the extra power, the A110S can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and top out at 260km/h.
Riding 4mm lower to the ground than the regular Alpine A110, the S also has 50 per cent stiffer spring rates and 100 per cent stiffer anti-roll bars and comes shod on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, making the sportier Alpine more suitable for track use.
That said, the racetrack is not somewhere you'll want to venture with the Pantone art car.
Commenting on his creations, Pantone said: “My idea regarding the work on the A110 is to evoke a sense of 'ultradynamism'. Visual speed is something that I have been investigating for years now and I feel it really comes together on this car, emphasising its brilliant design with a fast, technological look."
