Pictures of a new hard-core version of the Lamborghini Huracan have surfaced on Instagram after a camouflaged coupe was snapped testing in the wild.
The pictures, snapped earlier this month by Instagram user allanlambo, show what's claimed to be the upcoming Huracan Super Trofeo Omologato (STO)
Featuring a whole host of aero upgrades over the regular Lambo coupe, the Huracan STO gets a new diffuser, central dorsal fin, roof scoop and a huge rear wing that looks to be inspired by the Aventador SVJ.
It's been reported that Lamborghini has set a target to slash as much as 150kg off the kerb weight of the standard Huracan EVO, with the STO version to tip the scales at just 1272kg.
This has evolved an extensive re-skin of the standard car with carbon-fibre body panels and switching the Huracan all-wheel drive to rear-drive, which is said to have saved 33kg alone.
With less weight, more downforce and the addition of bigger brakes and stiffer suspension for track work, the Huracan STO is shaping up to be a natural rival for the McLaren 765LT.
Like the McLaren, the Huracan STO will be limited to around 700 units, and is expected to be launched later this year.
There's no word yet on how much more power the STO will make compared to the regular Huracan EVO's naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10m which makes 470kW plus 600Nm of torque.
As well as the limited-run Huracan STO, it's thought that Lamborghini is working to introduce an all-wheel drive replacement for the Huracan Performante.
