Unique Cars magazine is giving away a superb rebuilt 1968 Camaro in its 'Win a Camaro Competition.'
Purchased in the US and with just over 1100miles clocked since a thorough rebuild, this Camaro is ready to rumble -- or capture a trophy or two at the local show 'n shine.
The body and paintwork present flawlessly, the chromework has either been replaced or restored and now gleams as brightly as the new set of 15inch Rally wheels. Bulging out from under the chrome-lipped guards is new 290/50 rear and 215/60 front rubber.
The 'factory fresh' theme continues inside, with the original seats retrimmed in black vinyl, crashpad reskinned, new black carpet, and a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fitted. Muscle car fans will appreciate the Hurst B&M shifter while the Auto Meter gauges add a stylish modern touch.
And just in case you tire of the V8 soundtrack, a dash-mounted Pioneer CD player with boot-mounted 800W amplifier and rear speakers is ready to pump out your favourite tunes.
Under the hood is a Chev 350ci crate motor with Edelbrock aluminium intake, Edelbrock carby and new extractors. There is also a new brake reservoir, top-of-the-range high dollar Mallory distributor and brand new ProMaster ignition coil.
The new engine is mated to the bulletproof Muncie four-speed close ratio gearbox. There's also a heavy-duty clutch, renewed suspension including new springs and shocks and new drum brakes all round.
With up to 400hp (305kW) peak power and bucketloads of low-down torque the engine feels strong and urgent off the line, responding eagerly to throttle input.
