Subaru has taken a calculated risk with the release of a picture featuring the Australian-spec WRX.
The car has already attracted its share of detractors, but Subaru expects the outrage to die down once the new car becomes a familiar sight (more here) and buyers look beneath the car's style.
As you can see from the pictures, there's little visual difference between the WRX that Australians will drive (black background) and the US car (white background).
The egg-crate grille of the American car will be replaced for Australia by a mesh insert.
Subaru will launch the Impreza and the WRX turbo hot shot early in September and cars will go on sale shortly after. STi models will follow early next year (more here).
