If you think electric performance cars won’t be any fun to drive then think again.
Nissan might believe battery tech will still be too heavy for its next-generation R35 GT-R, but Rimac appears to have no such problem with its upcoming Rimac C_Two hypercar.
To prove it, the Croatian EV-maker – which has formed partnerships with both Hyundai and Porsche – has posted a YouTube video of the Rimac C_Two performing a lurid sideways drift on track as part of its development program.
Rimac says the C_Two, which will deliver a staggering 1914hp (1428kW) and 2300Nm of torque, will boast a range of advanced driver assist systems such as Rimac All Wheel Torque Vectoring (R-AWTV) that “unlocks a new level of driver control and experience”.
However, Rimac founder and CEO Mate Rimac also tasked his development team with ensuring it delivers “perfect handling without any driver assist systems”.
Judging by this video evidence from the latest stage in the development of its ‘DRIFT Mode', the Rimac C_Two is well on the way to achieving that.
Perhaps that’s one reason why the second-generation Tesla Roadster has been delayed…
