You can now do a wine shoey with the Daniel Ricciardo Decanter

A glass decanter that pays homage to Dan Ricciardo’s podium celebration ritual has been released to mark the second year of the DR3 x St Hugo collab.

Described as “aerodynamic with finely tuned curves” by Aussie F1 racing driver Daniel Ricciardo, the limited-edition Ricciardo Decanter is an exact replica of the famed racing shoe (yes the one from the podium shoey) and is said to be crafted to deliver an exceptional experience worthy of the DR3 x St Hugo limited edition wines.

The glass shoe decanter was designed by Sydney-based studio Vert Design and took 100 design hours to complete and was painstakingly hand-blown and moulded at Canberra Glassworks.

Only 1,100 limited-edition Ricciardo Decanters will be available and will set Dan Fans back $700. Each decanter is individually numbered and comes presented in a trophy case inspired luxury display box and includes a letter from Dan Ricciardo himself as well as a certificate of authenticity.

As well as putting this up on your display cabinet and admiring it, you can also use it for its main purpose. A wine decanter will allow your wine to breathe, "elevating its true character" before pouring yourself and your friends a glass.

If the decanter is a bit too flash, you can also indulge in one of Dan’s 2022 releases of wines which were created in partnership with the Barossa Valley's St Hugo winery. Once again under the careful guidance of St Hugo Chief Winemaker, Peter Munro, Dan took a hands-on approach to blend the DR3 South Australian Shiraz 2020 and Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2018.

“We have put our hearts into creating wines to be enjoyed and the process has been just as fun and enjoyable as sharing the end product,” said Daniel Ricciardo. “This is really something that makes you smile and appreciate the journey it takes to get there.”
